Brooklynites Minks are churning out a new wave of British 80’s music. Signed to the lovely New York label Captured Tracks which is also home to The Indie Crowd favourite Wild Nothing, they are producing new romantic indie melodies previously made famous by British bands The Cure and The Smiths. Not much is know about Minks apart from they are from Brooklyn as many mysterious brilliant bands are and their album is set to drop sometime in September. They have a couple of tracks that have been circulating ‘Funeral Song‘ and their new release ‘Ophelia‘ both very new romantic, minimal production and a dreary outlook unlike other upbeat Brooklyn bands like The Drums.

  1. really excited to see whats next from these guys. lots of effortless hooks that would fit on any cure, psychedelic furs or the the album, but they have a rough around the edges weirdness about them too. can’t wait for a full length!
