Band Of The Day: Keepaway

Okay so whenever i seem to find a new band to post up they seem to accumulate from a couple of areas, L.A or New York. So this time we are going east coast with Brooklyn trio Keepaway. They are reminiscent of a Animal Collective hybrid with a trippy and less polished (not a bad thing) sound. The rawness of the lyrics adds a realism and truth to accompany the sweet guitar melodies transporting you somewhere else and instantly encapturing the audience. The lyrics ‘‘I think i have finally found what i want, to be two places at once” renders through the track ‘Yellow Wings’ that would slot effortlessly into AC’s ‘Merriweather Post Pavillion’. ‘Yellow Wings’ is the lead track from the self released debut EP ‘Baby Style’. ‘Yellow Wings’ is available to download for free over at Pitchfork, go check out their Myspace with its impressive fish tile background for dates in SXSW and other tracks.
